Volunteering

We want reception worker volunteers now!

Walthamstow Citizens Advice Bureau is moving to new premises in September 2010. At the same time we will be changing the way we deliver advice and information to local residents, and to do this we need a number of volunteers to help us. Volunteers may be full or part-time, but as a minimum they must be able to work at least one 3 hour shift per week.

Reception workers are the first point of contact many of our clients have with the CAB, so much depends on this role. We are not concerned with academic qualifications – what counts are sound communication skills, and an ability to get on with all kinds of people in a busy work environment.

Formal CAB training as reception workers will follow on from the successful completion of a probationary period. We really need people who are prepared to stay with us for at least 6 months, although preference will be given to those who can give a longer term commitment. Please note that at present, we are not taking on volunteer trainee advice workers, although this may change in the future.

If you have 3 hours or more per week to spare and would like to help us to serve our community, then please do the following:
